2000 Inductees

A 1981 graduate of North High, Lori was an All-Conference and All-State swimmer who earned individual and relay championships in the sport. She also performed with the All-State band and choir, was a cast member at Trollwood Performing Arts School, a Girls' State delegate, and member of the National Honor Society.   Lori earned a B.A. Degree in English and Education from St. Olaf College in 1985; and completed an MBA Degree in 1994, from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. Following five years of teaching language arts and coaching varsity swimming in the Princeton, MN. schools, she went into the banking industry as a Personal Banker and then Marketing Officer. Lori presently serves as a Senior Product Manager with the U.S. Bank's Federal Education Loan and Student Banking Programs. She resides in Roseville, Minnesota.

A member of the charter class at North High School, Greg graduated in the spring of 1968. His school days were characterized by an active role in student government as a class officer and Student Council member. He was among the many at the school who insured energized support for the Spartan teams in their rivalries with neighboring schools. Greg earned B.S. Degrees in History and Elementary Education from Moorhead State College (MN) in 1972 and 1973. In 1977, Greg completed an M.S. Degree in History from Moorhead State; and followed with an M.S. Degree in Library Science from the University of Maryland in 1979.   Greg began his career with the U.S. Senate Library in 1975, as a reference librarian. In 1979, he became the Head of Information Services at the Library; and in 1997, he was elevated to his current position as Librarian of the Senate. He has served as Instructor of Library Sciences at The Catholic University of America; and authored publications on the subject "Presidential Vetoes 1789-1996" and "U.S. Senate Library Resources".

A member of the Class of 1986, Laurie was a National Honor Society member, a National Merit Finalist and National Merit Scholar. In addition to her obvious success in the classroom, she was involved with the volleyball, basketball, track and soccer programs. Laurie graduated with academic distinction from Purdue University in 1990, and went on to earn M.A. and Ph.D. Degrees from Princeton University in the field of electrical engineering. She served as an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Univ. of Minnesota, was a visiting faculty member at Princeton University, and is currently a Member of Research Staff at the Institute for Defense Analyses in the Center for Communications Research in Princeton, New Jersey. In 1996, she was recognized by the National Science Foundation as a promising young research faculty member with its CAREER Award. There have been numerous honors bestowed upon Laurie for her initiative and expertise in her chosen field.

A native of Wheatland, ND, Jerry earned a B.S. Degree in Natural Science from Mayville (ND) State College in 1957. He received an M.S. Degree from the Univ. of South Dakota in 1962; and has completed additional work at NDSU, SDSU, MSU, and the Univ. of Washington. Jerry's teaching and coaching career included stops in Karlstad, MN, and Ellendale, ND, before joining the Fargo Central staff in the fall of 1962. In the fall of 1965, Jerry became a charter member of the teaching and coaching staff at North High School, a role that he continued with until becoming an Assistant Principal in 1976. His service to the Fargo Public Schools continued with appointments as Principal at Agassiz Junior High and as Director of Athletics before his retirement in 1991.   His dedicated service to the youth of Fargo through his many assignments has been enhanced by his additional work with community, state and national organizations that have supported student learning and activities opportunities.
