2007 Inductees

A 1979 graduate of North High School, Randall was active in theatre; and earned membership in the National Honor Society, won a Writing Award from the National Council of Teachers of English, and was a National Merit Finalist.  Randall earned his B.A. Degree from UND in 1982; and completed his Law Degree from the Harvard Law School in Cambridge, MA in 1985.

Randall worked for law offices in Washington, D.C. for two years, before joining the U.S. Attorney's Office in 1989.  From 1993 to 2001, Randall worked as a white collar crime prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's Office, serving as its section chief the last two years.  Randall received a number of commendations from federal and local law enforcement agencies and the U.S. Dept. of Justice for his prosecution of corrupt public officials and individuals charged with government fraud.

As a professor in the field of white collar crime, Randall has served on the faculties of Georgetown University, American University, and Washington College of Law.  He has made numerous public appearances on NBC, CNN, MSNBC and National Public Radio discussing white collar and corporate crime.

Although born in South Dakota, Joan was raised and educated in Fargo, ND.  It was her personal experience with educators during her youth that led to her pursuit of a career in teaching.  After a number of years as a homemaker, Joan enrolled at NDSU, earning a BA Degree in French and English in 1967; and followed with a Master's Degree from NDSU in 1974.

Joan taught at North High School from 1967 to 1993.  During that time, she worked with students at all grade and performance levels; and in 1979, Joan was recognized as the Fargo and North Dakota Teacher of the Year.  After retiring from North High School, she served as an Adjunct Professor of English at Moorhead (MN) State University and as an Adjunct Lecturer at NDSU.  She has also held similar positions at colleges in Virginia and Texas.

Joan's service in the field of education has included 25 years as a Leader and Consultant with the AP Exam program of Educational Testing Services.  She has also been active in local, regional, and national projects and organizations in education.

Bret graduated from North High School in 1986, where he was an active member of the Student Council and a class officer.  He distinguished himself as an athlete in the sport of wrestling, capturing four Individual State Championships, while amassing a record of 126-0.  That feat earned him High School All-America status as a senior.

In 1992, Bret earned a B.S. Degree in Education from North Dakota State  University; and continued his wrestling career, earning Collegiate All-America recognition twice.  The following year, Bret worked as a Graduate Assistant at NDSU; and then moved on to Bismarck State College, where he was the Head Wrestling coach for two years.

From 1995 to 2000, Bret worked in a number of local schools while serving as Head Wrestling coach at Moorhead (MN) High School.  He then spent a year in Park Rapids, MN, before returning to NDSU, where he presently serves as an Assistant Wrestling coach.  Bret has been inducted into the Hall of Fame for North Dakota and North High School.

A 1994 honor graduate of North High School, Roxana was active in music, soccer, Key Club, and danceline.  Roxana earned a double major in French and Communication in 1997 from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.  She remained active with music, soccer, and reporting for the campus television and newspaper.

In 1997, she was selected Miss North Dakota; and was a Top Ten Finalist at the Miss America competition, winning the Scholar Award.  In 1999, she completed a Master's Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern University in Chicago; and in 2000, Roxana earned a Master's Degree in International Relations from Cambridge University in England.

Roxana has worked in video journalism and reporting for various television stations and agencies in several states and England.  Since 2003, she has served as a free lance journalist representing various international organizations, including the BBC.  She is presently residing in Tehran, Iran, where she reports on the Middle East; and is completing work on a Master's Degree in Iranian Studies and International Relations.
