Detention

WAYS TO SERVE DETENTION AT NORTH HIGH SCHOOL

Attend Detention Tuesdays & Thursdays

• Serve detention in Room 114 during period 8 OR after school 
• Must be on time, cannot be late or the time won’t count
• We will remove 1 hour for every one detention session attended

Attend Spartan Period 

• Student must attend for at least 40 minutes
• Teacher will email Wendy Peterson (attendance clerk) after 
• We will remove 1 hour for every Spartan Period a student attends

Meet with Mrs. Dura (Math Intervention) AND/OR Ms. Maura (Science/English Intervention)

• Student must attend for at least 40 minutes
• Dura/Maura must email Wendy Peterson (attendance clerk) after
• We will remove 1 hour for every intervention session a student attends

Serve Detention in the In School Success Program (ISS) on your Open Campus

• Remove 1 hour per period served
• Check into the Main Office first, they will send student to Room 114 to serve
• Must follow detention expectations
• Student must remain there the entire class period

Attend to Remove Detention Hours

• Student MUST attend all classes without tardies OR truants 
• Admin will make a plan re: how many hours will be removed based upon a certain number of days of perfect attendance
• Generally this means: 2 hours removed per 1 week of perfect attendance

***All Detentions must be served in order to attend school dances***

***All Detentions must be served in order for Seniors to participate in the graduation ceremony***

SENIORS: If you have many detention hours but plan to walk at graduation, you must meet with your alpha assigned principal ASAP to make plans on serving the detention hours prior to the last day of school.
